James A. Boston

I found this in the Lacona (Iowa) section of the July 17th, 1924 edition of the Chariton Herald Patriot, page 17.

His aged mother listed as surviving him is Mary Boston, who's picture "at home in Lucas" I've previously published.

James was my Great-Grandfather's brother.

Mary Louisa Lewis (14 Jan 1845-6 Mar 1925) married James C. Boston (1 Jul 1840-22 Feb 1906) on 18 Aug 1860. They had five children, Elma Arila (3 Feb 1862-31 Jul 1927), Jeremiah Britton (Judd - My great-grandfather)(4 Sep 1968-20 Jan 1947), Joseph Marion (21 Sep 1875-22 Mar 1955 and the twins David Adden (22 Apr 1872-12 Oct 1954) and James A. (22 Apr 1872-11 Jul 1924).

The picture at the left was given to me by a family member - Thank You, Phyllis.

I don't know know the exact location in Lucas for this house. In the 20's, Lucas was far more robust than it is today. I suspect that this is the house later owned by Homer and Alfa Boston from the late 50's thru the early 90's, just up the hill from the old Lucas Motor Sales building. If so, the house (and the Lucas Motor Sales building!) has been torn down.
