Homer Boston & Alpha Powell Marraige

On 17 February 1927, my grandparents, (Carl) Homer Boston and Alpha (Cleo) Powell were married at the Christian Church parsonage in Corydon, Iowa. Twenty-nine years later, my parents would make this their anniversery day as well.

The witnesses were Alpha's sister, Ruby (Opal) Powell and her future husband, (James) Fred(rick) Johnson.

There is no mention of parents or a wedding party. There was no need for permission, he was 27 and she was 20, so I wonder if they eloped, enlisting the aid of Alpha's older sister and her boyfriend (fiance?). I guess I'll never know for sure.

Jerry Sexton & Arlene Payne

I found this in my Grandmother's papers. Jerry Sexton was (is) the son of my Great Uncle Clair's second wife, Anna Mae.
I don't have Anna's maiden name or Jerry's father's name. Any help would be appreciated.

Charles Otis Boston WWI Draft Register

Charles Otis "Jack" Boston was 19 years old when he signed up for the draft for the "War to End All Wars". It was, of course, not known as WWI until WWII came along. I have no record yet of whether Jack enlisted.
Charles Otis Boston was the 2nd son of my great-grandfather's (Bill Boston) brother, Richard Adolphus Boston.
